We all have a desire to be inspired, but in so many of us inspiration lays dormant.
In her book, Big Magic, Elizabeth Gilbert outlines the essential qualities of creative living. She identifies creativity as the relationship between a human being and the mysteries of inspiration. Creativity, by her definition, “is finding the inspiration that exists in the world and harnessing it’. In her view, it’s all down to awaken our inspiration by being curious, courageous, and open without letting fear stop us.
The question is, will we give ourselves permission to do the thing we are inspired by—simply for the sake of doing so, and not out of necessity or attachment to outcomes?
